“Growing up, I was a pretty sheltered kid. I didn’t party, I didn’t stay out late. I lived under my parents roof and obeyed the rules they put in place. Once I got to college I quickly caved and fell into a lot of the pressures of going to a public school like many kids do. I was living two lives: one was this perfect child when I was home for break and one was this wild child who thought college was just a 24/7 party. My relationship with God didn’t turn around until I had a serious knee injury my sophomore year. I blamed God for a while, asking him “why would you make me go through this?” I realized that this was just a valley that I was going though and God was using this to humble me and bring me back to him. Through that season I learned to trust him and give up control of my life. He brought me out of that valley, took me to the mountain top and taught me how to cling on to him, and I haven’t looked back since.”
